What Does My Wig Budget Buy?
Set a budget and see what it buys across every wig we list: the lace, length and density that are usual at that price, what an extra $50 changes, and what's still out of reach.
1,902 wigs start at $200 or less: 69% of the 2,748 we list.
What's typical at $150–$200
- Lace
- Most often a lace front (13x4 or 13x6, ear to ear), then a wide closure (6x5, 7x5 or 9x6).
- Length
- 16″ at the starting price.
- Density
- 180%.
- Features
- HD lace on 29%, glueless on 56% (of 720 listings).
Another $50: 2″ more length.
Prices are starting prices. A listing sold in several lengths, densities or lace sizes starts at its shortest, lightest and smallest, so that's what we count it as buying.

Making it go further
- Compromise on: length, density (150–180% looks natural), a closure instead of a lace front, transparent lace instead of HD, and a natural colour.
- Don't compromise on: a plucked hairline, the right cap size, or hair that's honestly described.
- Which code saves most on $200: a code can move you up a tier.
- Found one you like? See if another retailer sells it for less.
- What $200 works out at per wear.

Where the numbers come from
Every figure is counted from the in-stock wigs we list, from every retailer, each time the listings are checked; multi-wig deals are left out. Within a listing, length matters most to the price, then how much lace there is, then density and the finishing work, as our guide to wigs under $150 explains. For the price of the exact length and option you want, check the retailer's page.
Questions people ask
How much should I spend on a human hair wig?
Enough for the construction you want. In our listings, lace wigs start under $100; lace fronts, longer lengths and every finishing feature at once cost more. Set a budget in the explorer to see what it buys.
What do you give up on a cheaper wig?
Usually length first, then lace size (a closure instead of a lace front) and density. The under-$150 guide suggests keeping a plucked hairline and the right cap size, and compromising on length and lace instead.
Why does a wig cost more than its listed price?
The listed price is a starting price: the shortest length, lowest density and smallest lace the listing offers. Longer and fuller options cost more, so check the price of the exact option before you buy.
