Wig Spec Decoder
Paste a wig's title or its spec table from any site. We'll explain every spec in plain English, flag what it doesn't tell you, and show the closest wigs we list.
What it says — this reads as a bundle set
| Spec | The listing says | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Lace size | 4x4 | The lace panel in inches — width along the hairline curve, then depth back from it. 13x4 and 13x6 run ear to ear; 4x4, 5x5 and 6x5 are closures at the front. |
| Texture | Straight | The wave or curl pattern of the hair — straight through body wave, loose wave, water wave, deep wave and kinky curly. Changes the look more than any other single spec. |
| Construction | Bundles with lace closure | Whether the unit is a lace closure, a lace frontal, a bob wig or a set of bundles. |
| Hair material | 100% human hair | What the hair is. 100% human hair can be heat-styled, coloured and washed like your own; virgin human hair has had no previous chemical processing. |
What these specs mean together
- 4x4 lace
- A compact closure covering the crown. The parting sits within that area, which makes it one of the more beginner-friendly constructions.
Not stated — ask before you buy
The listing doesn't say these. Check the retailer's product page or ask them, because each changes how the wig looks or fits.
- Length. Measured straight, so curly units hang shorter than the number.
- Weight. Grams per bundle — how you work out how many a full head needs.

How it reads a listing
It reads text the same way this site reads the retailers' own product feeds: specification lines like "Density: 180%" first, then anything the title states, such as "13x4", "HD lace", "glueless" or "22 inch". It only repeats what the listing says, and never guesses a spec that isn't there.
Every definition comes from our spec glossary. For lace sizes to scale, see lace sizes explained.
